About
My name is Jake, and I am currently teaching English to 1st and 2nd graders in Budapest, Hungary. After recently graduating from San Francisco State University, I decided to do something totally different than using our diplomas. I double majored in Radio and Television (emphasis in interactive media and screenwriting) and Technical and Professional Writing. And I had so much fun the first year, I decided to stay for another!
This blog captures the moments in a new country as I learn about my own Hungarian heritage while doing something that I never imagined: teaching English to kids.

Hi Jake-
I’m the editor of Expat Arrivals.com (http://www.expatarrivals.com), a site devoted to developing comprehensive destination guides aimed at easing expat transitions abroad. I came across your blog through the course of my research for Hungary, and I was wondering if you’d be interested in being interviewed (via email questionnaire) about your expat experience. We find it’s always helpful for other’s to read about the personal experiences of people in their future destination, and so we’re trying to collect as many interviews as possible.
Thanks for your time and consideration, I look forward to hearing from you.
Best-
Stephanie

Hi.
We would like to speak to you about working (paid, of course) as a teacher for our English camps this summer if you are still in Hungary and will be around summer 2011.
The camps run during the school holidays, and we had one of the CETP teachers before. Please reply as soon as possible if you are interested in doing a week or two.
Our site is http://www.anyanyelvi.hu.
Thanks,
Barry
